Girdwood Center for Visual Arts

About Us

Girdwood Center for Visual Arts (GCVA) is not your typical art gallery. It is a non-profit 501(c)(3) cooperative art gallery of over 30 Alaskan artists.

We have a wide selection of art in almost every imaginable medium including acrylics, oils & watercolor paintings, pen and ink, pottery, woodworking, metal work, jewelry, glass, fabric, photography and more. All sales at our gallery sustain our non-profit organization and allow us to support the arts in our community.

Our gallery is staffed by our artist volunteers which creates the unique opportunity for the public to meet and talk with the artist of the day.

History

GCVA began in 1982 by a group of volunteers to provide a local venue for artists to develop, show and share their work. We have continued that mission for over 30 years and actively promote the arts in our community through workshops and community events.

Location

GCVA is located on the boardwalk next to the Bake Shop and La Bodega We are at the base of Mt. Alyeska
